Here are the 2 books I highly recommend for Design Patterns:<br /><br />1. <a type="amzn" asin="0201633612">Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software</a><br />This is a classic, The book's authors commonly referred as GoF [Wiki:<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_Patterns">Design Patterns</a>], if you do not have this book yet, treat yourself with this one. This will give you the foundation on 23 base patterns, like - Single ton, Factory Method, chain of Responsibility, Command, Observer, Strategy etc. This is a hard to read book i.e. you need to study this book , a good resource to start is <a href="http://www.industriallogic.com/papers/learning.html">A Learning Guide To Design Patterns</a><br /><br />2. <a type="amzn" asin="0321127420">Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture</a><br />This another must have book.
